Ready for the interview?

Every mission ends with the interview, not just the ticket

Interview-prep questions grounded in the actual reasoning your ticket required — not generic “what is DNS” trivia.

Remote Desktop — persistent malware ticket

A previous cleanup attempt ended the malicious process, but the infection came right back within the hour. What does that tell you, and how does it change your approach?

It tells you the process itself wasn't the root cause — something is relaunching it automatically, which almost always means a persistence mechanism like a startup entry. Ending the process again without finding and removing whatever's bringing it back guarantees the same result. I go straight for the thing causing the relaunch, not just the symptom that was already treated once and failed.

Windows Server — shared drive outage

A shared drive that multiple people depend on suddenly stops working after a scheduled reboot. What's your first move?

I'd check what actually changed — a scheduled reboot is a strong hint that something didn't come back up cleanly, rather than a new misconfiguration. I'd look at the service responsible for file sharing first, since an outage affecting everyone at once usually points at the service level, not a permissions issue on one folder.

Network Engineer

Designs, configures, and troubleshoots the network itself.

Cloud Engineer

Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

SOC Analyst

Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts in real time.

Cybersecurity Analyst

Scan for vulnerabilities, patch them, harden the rest, and prove it with a compliance score.

DevOps Engineer

Ship faster with CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code.

I spent two years watching IT tutorials and never felt ready. Three weeks on Real IT and I fixed my first real AD ticket without panicking.

Jordan M.

Help Desk Technician

The networking labs are the closest thing to Packet Tracer I've used that actually explains why a ping fails instead of just telling you it did.

Priya K.

IT Student

Hiring managers could tell I'd actually touched a terminal, not just memorized flashcards.

Frequently asked questions

Courses show you videos and quiz you on facts. Real IT drops you into a simulated environment — a real terminal, a real network topology, a real Active Directory domain — and gives you a ticket to resolve. You learn by doing the actual work, not by watching someone else do it.
